C.S. Chandrasekhara's Town and Country Planning Organization(TCPO) Scheme

 

In 1968, the Town and Country Planning Organization suggested a scheme of planning regions delineated on the basis of economic viability, self sufficiency and ecological balance at the macro and meso levels. Its main emphasis was to introduce regional factor in economic development and aimed at balancing the urban growth by dispersing the population in smaller urban centers.

The Town and Country Planning Organization done by C.S.Chandasekhara can be divided into 13 macro planning regions which are further sub-divided into 35 meso regions. The macro regions along with the meso regions are as follows-
